Does the financing prequalification affect my credit score?

➥ When you submit a loan request, our lending partners do a "soft pull" on the credit file. This will not affect your credit score. If you choose to move forward and apply directly with one of our lending partners, that lender will conduct a hard pull which typically has a small effect on credit score, just like applying for any loan would.

Ecopool Shipping

How long does it take for Ecopool to ship?

➥ Lead times depend on the product line and your final design. An S-Series steel pool is typically ready to ship in 3–6 weeks. A standard container pool can ship in as little as 20 days. Larger or fully custom builds may require additional time — contact us for a specific timeline.

➥ Ecopool ships nationwide across the United States and Canada, and can be shipped internationally as well.

How much does shipping cost?

➥ Shipping costs depend on the distance and the size of your Ecopool, and typically range from $500 – $2,500+. We can provide recommendations for shipping companies upon request.

Ecopool Installation

What is the cost of setup or installation of Ecopool?

➥ The cost varies and is dependent upon pool size, geographic location, site location, type of site preparation selected, ease of access to site, and other factors. To obtain an accurate cost of your setup and installation, you will want your contractor to do a site visit.

What kind of base does an Ecopool need?

➥ It depends on the type of pool you are installing and geographic location. We recommend a gravel or concrete base for Ecopool. Please ask your contractor or subcontractor to perform a site inspection and assess your specific needs.

How long does it take to install an Ecopool?

➥ It depends on your design. A small above-ground Ecopool can be installed in as little as a day. Larger inground or partially inground Ecopools typically take 2–4 days.

Can my Ecopool be installed on ground or inground?

➥ Yes and yes! Your Ecopool can be installed both fully inground or completely on top of the ground once the land is leveled and packed. Ecopool can even be installed partially inground, depending on the surrounding landscape and the look you want.

Does Ecopool set up or install the pools?

➥ Ecopool specializes in manufacturing and does not perform on-site work. The homeowner hires a contractor or subcontractor for setup and installation. Many homeowners also choose a DIY approach or act as their own General Contractor. Because Ecopool is factory built, the heavy lifting is already done before it reaches your property.

Who can set up or install Ecopool?

➥ Ecopool can be set up or installed by most contractors and subcontractors with basic knowledge of ground preparation and/or concrete pouring and heavy equipment operation.

Does Ecopool require a pool contractor to set up?

➥ No, since Ecopool is built in a factory, Ecopool can be set up or installed by most contractors and subcontractors with basic knowledge of ground preparation and/or concrete pouring and heavy equipment operation.

Can homeowners set up or install their own Ecopool?

➥ Absolutely. Some homeowners handle the entire installation themselves, while others manage specific parts and subcontract the rest. It's common to hire someone for ground preparation or excavation, then have a contractor place the pool with a telehandler. Acting as your own General Contractor is a popular option.

Can I act as the General Contractor and subcontract my installation?

➥ This is quite popular and allows homeowners to reduce the setup or installation fee. While this would be a monumental undertaking with a concrete or fiberglass pool, the simplicity and factory built nature of Ecopool makes it an attractive alternative.

Is Ecopool easy to install and set up?

➥ Yes! Because Ecopool is factory built, on-site requirements are minimal. It's a simple process: 1) prepare a level surface capable of supporting the pool, 2) make the final plumbing connections — usually 30–60 minutes since pools come preplumbed, and 3) have an electrician run power to the pool's pump.

How do I get an Ecopool into my backyard?

➥ Ecopool can be placed in almost any backyard, even properties with difficult access. If a truck can reach your backyard, the process is simple. Otherwise, the pool can be parked on the street and lifted over with a telehandler or small crane. The homeowner or their contractor is responsible for placement — Ecopool does not provide on-site assistance.

Does Ecopool require a concrete foundation?

➥ A concrete foundation is a great foundation for Ecopool. However, a compact and level surface capable of supporting Ecopool can work well. This can be a variety of bases such as crushed gravel.

What skills are needed to set up or install Ecopool?

➥ Installing Ecopool is easy and can be done by most contractors and subcontractors in your area. Setting up a typical Ecopool is a simple 3 step process. 1) site preparation 2) placement of pool with a telescoping forklift/telehandler or crane 3) final plumbing connection (pools are offered preplumbed) 4) electrical connection. Our largest width pools require an additional step of bolting the two halves together.

How do I find a contractor or subcontractor?

➥ We recommend asking around in your local network or groups or searching online in your area for subcontractors or contractors. It is always a good idea to get references and three quotes. Angie's List and Thumbtack are two popular platforms for finding local contractors.

Ecopool Manufacturing

What is the difference between S-Series and Container Pools?

➥ S-Series pools are built from new heavy-gauge steel using a modular bolt-together design, available in virtually any size — including custom dimensions built to your exact specifications. Container Pools repurpose single-use shipping containers into pools. Both product lines are factory built in Salado, TX, come preplumbed, and feature the same high-quality interior membrane options.

Where do the repurposed shipping containers come from?

➥ For our Container Pool line, all shipping containers are single use containers. That means they were newly manufactured and then used to ship cargo overseas. The benefit of using these new containers is that they are still in excellent condition after their first trip before being repurposed into an Ecopool.

Can I change the color of the exterior?

➥ Yes! We offer custom exterior colors for an additional fee. Note that custom colors may extend lead time.

Can I change the color or style of the interior?

➥ Yes, Ecopool offers 8-10 interior color options at all times and in all areas.

What kind of base does an Ecopool need?

➥ It depends on the type of pool you are installing and geographic location. We recommend a gravel or concrete base for Ecopool. Please ask your contractor or subcontractor to perform a site inspection and assess your specific needs.

How deep is Ecopool?

➥ Standard wall heights are 52" or 46", providing approximately 4' or 3.5' of water depth — ideal for most activities. Need something different? Ecopool can manufacture custom depths to match your vision.

What is the waterproofing membrane inside Ecopool made of?

➥ Ecopool uses an 8-layer wall design for exceptional durability. The final water-contact layer is an acrylic-coated, reinforced polymer that resists algae growth. The surface is smooth and non-porous — it won't harbor bacteria and algae the way concrete or plaster does.

Does an Ecopool offer pumps and filters?

➥ Yes. Every Ecopool comes with a standard cartridge filter (sand filter optional) and an energy-efficient variable speed pump. Optional upgrades include a SpectraLight UV sanitation system and a robotic pool cleaner.

Are there drains? How many?

➥ A standard Ecopool is equipped with 2 drains at the bottom to maximize circulation and safety.

Can Ecopool have a heater?

➥ Yes. Ecopool works with the same heating equipment used on traditional pools — natural gas or propane. A heater can be added at the time of setup or installed later.

Does Ecopool come with a warranty?

➥ Yes, Ecopool includes a 3 year limited warranty.

How are larger pools delivered if they can't fit on narrow roads?

➥ Ecopool uses a modular design, so larger pools are delivered in separate modules and bolted together on-site. This allows us to deliver pools to virtually any location, regardless of road width restrictions.

Are the modules welded together on-site?

➥ No, there is no on-site welding required. The modules are precisely engineered to bolt together securely on-site, maintaining structural integrity without the need for specialized welding equipment or skilled welders.

What protects the steel from rust, and can it be repaired if damaged?

➥ Both S-Series and Container Pools feature robust steel protection. The steel is coated with a thick polyurea layer followed by a durable topcoat, creating an exceptionally tough, waterproof barrier. Container Pools use Corten steel while S-Series pools use heavy-gauge structural steel. If the polyurea is ever nicked during transport or installation, it can be repaired in the field using a polyurea repair kit that chemically bonds to the original layer.

Additionally, the pool water never comes into contact with the steel structure. The interior features a commercial-grade pool membrane that forms a completely sealed interior surface. This dual-barrier system protects the steel from both sides, ensuring long-term durability.

What about coping and autocover installation?

➥ Ecopool includes a 6" wide steel top rail as standard. About 50% of clients use it as-is, while the other 50% use the steel rail as a base and cover it with their preferred coping material such as stone, wood, or other decorative materials. This provides flexibility for customization while maintaining structural integrity.

Ecopool Permitting

What permits are needed for an Ecopool?

➥ Permit requirements vary by location. Some rural areas don't require permits at all. We recommend contacting your local municipality and asking how they classify above-ground vs. inground pools. In many areas, Ecopool may be classified as an above-ground pool, spa, or hot tub — which can simplify or eliminate the permitting process.

Who gets the permits for my Ecopool?

➥ If required in your area, the homeowner or their contractor or subcontractor will obtain permits.

How long do permits take to get for an Ecopool?

➥ If needed, the time for permits for an Ecopool will depend on the city and municipality that you are working with.

Ecopool Maintenance

Is Ecopool easy to maintain?

➥ Ecopools are significantly easier to maintain than traditional swimming pools. The polymer membrane doesn't harbor algae and bacteria the way gunite and plaster does. Pair that with optional UV disinfection and a robotic pool cleaner, and maintenance becomes almost effortless.

Do I need to use pool chemicals?

➥ Yes, but far fewer than a traditional pool. The polymer membrane reduces the need for heavy chemical treatment. Every pool requires at least some chlorine, but you can minimize it even further with a UV disinfection system — which brings chlorine levels down to near drinking-water quality.

What type of chemicals should be used in an Ecopool?

➥ Most standard pool chlorine is compatible with Ecopool.

Can I install a saltwater chlorine generator on Ecopool?

➥ Yes, you can.

I've heard rust is a concern for steel and container pools. How does Ecopool address this?

➥ Both S-Series and Container Pools use a multi-layer protection system. The pool's interior is a water-containing polymer membrane which cannot rust. The steel structure is protected by a thick polyurea coating that creates a waterproof barrier. Unlike some competitors, the design of Ecopool doesn't rely on bare metal to contain pool water. This approach provides a superior surface for sanitation, longevity, and appearance.

What is a robotic pool cleaner?

➥ A robotic pool cleaner is an electric device that handles daily cleaning for you — scrubbing walls, filtering debris, and cleaning waterlines automatically. We offer models that cost an average of $0.05 per cleaning hour, climb walls, and can be scheduled to run on their own.
